CD Projekt Red tribute to director Kojima, dressed as a character from Cyberpunk 2077.

Hideo Kojima has always been a stylish boy, but he may be outmatched by his Cyberpunk 2077 doppelganger. To celebrate his and the Kojima Productions team's launch of Death Stranding for PC, CD Projekt Red transformed him into a Cyberpunk 2077 character.

The designer was one of the first to see Cyberpunk 2077 when he visited CD Projekt Red in 2018, and the following year he visited the studio's Tokyo Game Show booth and was photographed riding a very fancy motorcycle from the game. This photo shoot seems to have been the inspiration for the amazing Cyberpunk 2077 art that now adorns Twitter.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Kojima's game have several things in common. Transhumanism, irresponsible use of technology, and immersive sim experiences are among the many similarities. The bikes in Death Stranding are very similar to those in Cyberpunk 2077.

This could be a nice gift from the cyberpunk artists to Kojima, but given the slight resemblance to the in-game model, one wonders if Kojima will actually be able to haunt Night City and be found by players. There is already a precedent for this, as the Nightwire livestream of Cyberpunk 2077 revealed that for some reason the streamer will make a cameo appearance.

Of course, Kojima is no stranger to cameos. In Death Stranding, Kojima (as the Goo Monster), Jeff Keighley, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and Conan O'Brien made cameo appearances. He also sneaks into "Control" and can be scouted in "Metal Gear Solid 5".

We contacted CDPR to see if we could see Kojima riding around on a cool motorcycle in November. In the meantime, check out Andy Kelly's hands-on look at Cyberpunk 2077.
